Around 900 German volunteers work here every year, mostly between the ages of 18 and 26, in a wide variety of areas.

Professional and cultural experiences and knowledge from outside Germany not only enhance your CV and improve the chances on the job market, but also bring unforgettable experiences and often lifelong contacts and friendships.

New Kibbutz Program

With "New Kibbutz", the German-Israeli Chamber of Commerce and Industry offers bachelor and master students from Germany internships in Israeli startup companies or more mature companies, mainly in the hi-tech sector. Participants have the opportunity to work in a highly innovative business location and gain practical experience in a relevant field: from marketing to software development. The portfolio offers a wide range of exciting activities in dynamic teams.

In addition to working in the respective company, the internships include workshops and excursions on political, economic, historical and social topics in Israel. For example, participants visit the Knesset, meet top venture capitalists on Rothschild Boulevard, explore a traditional kibbutz or listen to lectures.

The AHK Israel accompanies the candidates through the whole process, takes care of visa applications, supports them with organizational matters such as the search for suitable accommodation and is always available to answer any questions about life in Tel Aviv.

The internship is unpaid due to the visa requirements, but most companies offer financial support in the form of meal reimbursement, transportation and telephone costs.

Volunteer services

Would you like to get involved socially or politically, gain experience abroad and advance international understanding? Volunteering offers the opportunity to spend several months working in an Israeli organization or institution. The locations and areas of activity are diverse, for example in social facilities such as homes for the disabled, elderly care or childcare, in educational institutions, museums, memorials and in guest houses. There is also an opportunity to live and work in a kibbutz.

The conditions (application, duration of employment and working hours, pocket money, etc.) depend on the respective sending or hosting organization.
